100% Holistic starting NOW
I watched Billie react horribly to chemo the first dose. It was 5 hours of nausea drooling and torment. I am going 100% holistic. I just realized that she doesn’t care if she lives 2 years or 2 months, that’s all about me. It is unfair for me to make her feel sicker. She is on a diet of hormone free chicken breast, cottage cheese, flax oil, omegas, raw goats milk and a new product made to support intestinal wellness. This diet is going to be far less than the cost of drugs. It is my gut instinct that this is absolutely the right way. It’s quality of life not quantity. I’m about to start working with a holistic vet here in maine and will keep posting about the results! Billie did the stairs today for the first time without me lifting the sling for her!

It’s all about what feels right for you and your dog!! I have gone the holistic route too with my tripawd…she gets daily homeopathic remedies via Dr. Charlie Loops(NC). I’m in Maine!! Where are you? What holistic vet?? I also use Dr. Lee Herzig in Belfast, Maine, for chiropractic, acupuncture and laser for my dogs. And I also use Animal Wellness Center in Augusta, Maine…my sister is a Tech there…

That’s great that you are going that route! You are so right.. it’s about Quality of life, not Quantity of life. We are the ones who want them around forever, we can’t help it, they are so wonderful to us!
We just met with a holistic vet last night for our tripawd. She is wonderful and SO intelligent. We are going with her protocol for supplements for Hunter. We are lucky that so far he has tolerated the chemo treatments well. Good luck in all that you do for your dog.

It is absolutely about quality of life. We went what I called a “half-listic” route w/ Abby. It wasn’t wholly holistic. We did a real “East meets West” thing with her, but she mostly did really well on the traditional treatments. If she’d had any type of bad reactions, we’d have stopped (and we did stop some meds that were giving her tummy troubles). You gotta do what’s best for you pup.
All the best.

Tracy: We should talk! I’m gonna set up a consult with Herzig tomorrow! I heard from a nutritionist in Maine named Joyce who directed me. I’d love to hear more about your story and progress with Maggie! I’m in Portland Maine right now.
Hunter’s person: So did you do chemo first and then switch to holistic? I suppose I could just go read your blog. Lol. Good Luck to you and Hunter!!!
Jackie (Angel Abby’s Mom): Thank you for sharing. I can use all the info and support I can get. Lots of love to you and that sweet angel.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it
or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive
the message home a bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog.

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this matter to be actually something which I think I
would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of
it!
