100% Holistic starting NOW
Posted in Uncategorized on July 11, 2012 byI watched Billie react horribly to chemo the first dose. It was 5 hours of nausea drooling and torment. I am going 100% holistic. I just realized that she doesn’t care if she lives 2 years or 2 months, that’s all about me. It is unfair for me to make her feel sicker. She is on a diet of hormone free chicken breast, cottage cheese, flax oil, omegas, raw goats milk and a new product made to support intestinal wellness. This diet is going to be far less than the cost of drugs. It is my gut instinct that this is absolutely the right way. It’s quality of life not quantity. I’m about to start working with a holistic vet here in maine and will keep posting about the results! Billie did the stairs today for the first time without me lifting the sling for her!
GO NATURAL!!!
Update on Billie. Questions about diet?
Posted in Uncategorized on July 10, 2012 byBillie is almost two weeks post-amputation. She has a sensitive GI and she is eating well. She did not get a full amputation and is very thin. She has lost a lot of weight in just a short time. My goal is to get useful calories on her and be sensitive to her stomach.
I started a very mild oral chemo with her just to see how she responds. If she doesn’t do well I will take her off. In the mean time I’m trying to do everything nutritionally that I can afford.
So far she’s eating chicken breast (no hormones etc) cottage cheese, flax oil a small dose of omegas and I was just introduced to green tripe? Has anyone tried this?
Also I’d really like to hear how anyone did treating their dogs with Cyclophosphamide and Peroxicam?
She’s on a very low dose but I’m not sure if it’s the right thing.
